こんにちは!

My name is Alison and I have been a passionate teacher of both Japanese and ESL/EFL for many years now. After living in Japan for twelve years and having our children in Hokkaido and Kanagawa, we decided to return home to Australia in 2012, with the two kids and our crazy nora-neko 'Kirin' (yes, named after a giraffe by my son).  The animals above provide endless support as I write too. They are Max and Franky.

After moving directly to Cairns, it was then that I discovered, after all those years, that primary school teaching was my favourite. I should have known really, because I have always loved playing games, making up songs and stories and generally, being a bit of a kid myself. Writing these stories is allowing me to put my creativity and research knowledge into full gear and I love being able to move from just teaching my own students to writing stories for more students to enjoy.

I plan to keep writing so that this reading program eventually becomes a library, offering an opportunity for real extensive reading practice both at school and at home.
